Under a Framework Agreement Lovell Johns is part of a consortium of four preferred suppliers to provide GIS and mapping services and support to the European Commission. All Directorate General Departments (DGs) and the Joint Research Centre of the European Commission are able to call upon Lovell Johns end-to-end GIS skills to provide Project Management, Consultancy and GI database services, application development and internet mapping services. DGs already using LJ services include DG REGIO; EuroSTAT;DG AGRI; DG TREN; JRC.
Mapping services are also provided to the European Parliament; DG Press (European Political Map), and DG Relex (maps identifying EC relations with the rest of the world; neighbourhood policy, mine actions, Phare programmes) DG Agri: The CAP map.

This is a natural area for digital mapping techniques and Geographic Information Systems, which enables multiple disparate databases to be integrated and queried based in their locational characteristics. Business critical data sets such as statistical and geodemographic information can be interrogated to determine the influence of other external economic or environmental factors. Relationships emerge which help analyse and predict the best use of resources, areas of greater need, or efficiencies gained.
